Brain Plasticity

Today in class, we completed some brain plasticity experiments:
  • shooting Nerf hoops from a seated position
  • puttng together nuts and bolts
  • completing a ball maze
  • tiddly-winks
For homework, you are to read the articles Overloaded and Playing Ye Olde Way. Then you are to write a one page reaction to this experiment (pdf link coming soon)

Ethics and Genie, the Wild Child

Combating stress


For Thursday 2/2

Today in class we reviewed the major approaches by looking at the character of Bluto from the film, Animal House. 

Students presented on their Outrageous Celebrity and we were introduced to our homework assignment: 20th Century's Most Eminent Psychologists**.
 **Errata: for d) Write a question and answer for or about your psychologist's contribution to psychology. this could be a question you would ask them and then what their answer would be.

For Friday

Today we worked on our understanding of Structuralism, Functionalism and Gestalt theories with the puzzles. Then we did a little practice with cognitive behavioral techniques.

Your homework for Friday is to work on your Modern Approach Poster with your group. I have a chart with examples of the requirements HERE. You will have to do some research on your own to complete the task.

Also due Tuesday of next week is your Outrageous Celebrity Assignment -I updated this assingment to reflect accurate examples. This can be presented in a poster, PowerPoint or paper.
